The past three weeks Philippines had been battered by 3 typhoons - Typhoon Quinta (strong tropical cyclone aka Typhoon Molave), Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses. These caused severe flooding in  105 cities and municipalities. Several cities are under a state of calamity.

Thousands of people were left homeless after heavy rain and strong winds. Nearly three million households in and around Manila were without power at the time of the typhoon. Several people died due to landslide, drowning or electrocution and few others missing amid the torrential rains and massive destruction. Last Friday, there have been 188,987 displaced individuals, with 180,581 people staying in evacuation centres.

To further aggravate the situation, excess waters were released from the water dams after breaching spilling levels causing thousands of residents still stranded on the roofs of their homes waiting to be rescued. Days after the typhoon had passed, rescue operations are still ongoing due to the unexpected extent of the flooding. All of these happened on top of soaring COVID-19 cases and a deepening economic crisis.

The people need clean water, sanitation, hygiene and food at the minimum.
Your €1 can provide 5 bottled waters for the victims whilst €5 can provide meal for a family, face mask, water, sanitizer, bath soap, tooth paste and toothbrush. A small help will go a long way and will be much appreciated.

We are partnering with Philippine Red Cross, a humanitarian organisation committed to providing quality, life saving services that protect the life and dignity of Filipinos in vulnerable situations.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
