IT Equipment for Education

Covid 19 has thrown all sorts of problems in the direction of already struggling families. Lately, we have been asked by some families for help with getting computers and printers for children to do their homework on, as increasingly the schools are sending their work home via apps and emails.

For example, we are working with one family with two secondary and two primary school children we would really like to help out with this. Their mother has almost no formal education herself and they have experienced a lot of hardship over the years. Against all odds, and mainly due to the encouragement and determination of mam, school and education continues to be rated very highly by all the children in this family, with the oldest doing his Leaving Certificate this year and aiming to study at university afterwards.

Like many families, covering the basics is as much as they can manage. Costs like technology are impossible for this family and others like them.  For Barnardos to be able to provide support to a family with a laptop or printer would prove invaluable to those who need it most and ensure that nobody gets left behind.
