RaShaud Graham fund

6/20/2020-As previously promised, John and Jim have now signed the documents which confirm our family's commitment to raise $50,000 to endow The Ra'Shaud Graham Scholarship. If you knew Ra'Shaud, you know that his mission was to change the world one relationship at a time. Our hope is that the scholarship recipients will be inspired by his stories of service, faith, leadership, love, and peace, and then carry his message out into the world. We will soon close out this GoFundMe account, however, our desire to honor the legacy of Ra'Shaud Javon Graham will never end. The work much continue, and we will not let him down. Donations can also be made to

The Ra'Shaud Graham Scholarship Fund   The Citadel Foundation 171 Moultrie St Charleston, SC 29409

And as always, please continue to pray for Alysse and the Graham family.

5/30/2020-I wish he was here. He would be fired up and ready to make change...telling us what to do and how to do it. "Bridging the gap" he would say. Aunt Cam would even make bridging the gap cookies with dark and white chocolate chips in them for all of us to eat together. We were able to talk and joke, but still have serious and honest conversations. And as we have seen over the past month, he shared these same relationships with SO many others...thousands, pretty much everyone he met. Race, sex, or age did not matter. His death left an unimaginable and unexpected gap to bridge, but I can hear him say...Go on, do the work, and know that our only hope is through Him! It's up to all of us now. Love and miss you Ra'Shaud Graham!
PS...GoFundMe is requiring me to acknowledge that the Grahams, Chanda Graham, are aware of and supportive of our plan to use your donations to pay for all funeral expenses and start a named scholarship through The Citadel Foundation. I am thankful that they take the time to investigater and make sure that campaigns are legitimate.

5/5/2020- On behalf of Alysse and the Graham family...thank you! We have all been blown away by your love, acts of kindness, financial contributions, and words of support. It has been amazing to see and hear how Ra'Shaud Graham impacted you. He was a true light in this world, who loved people from all walks of life; and your willingness to give, $1 at a time, will truly make a difference. As promised, all costs associated with his funeral are covered, and your remaining donations will be transferred to The Citadel Foundation to establish a long term scholarship in his honor. John Harrison '93, Jim Boyd '93 and their sons, Jackson Boyd '19 and Evans Harrison '20, will be coordinating the details.

4/28/2020- Today was a sad day for many in this world! Those of us who were graced by God to know Ra’Shaud
Javon Graham understand completely.  Some of us knew him as a fiancée, son, grandson, brother, classmate,
mentor or friend.  Ra'Shaud was a man that transcended race, sex, age, religion, political party or any other
difference in this world that we choose to divide us.  He was a man of God whether it was praying with his many
“families” to spreading the word through his actions… he was a man we should all want to emulate in life.  He was
raised on inclusion, focused on bringing people together, and making everyone he met a better person.  From being a teacher, coach, friend, cadet on cadre at the Citadel, he did everything with a passion for life and people like no
person I have ever met.

Today, I call on his friends, classmates, or even perfect strangers to help us relieve a portion of the stress and strain of funeral costs by considering a donation to this account.  The funds will be used to properly honor a man of
Ra’Shaud’s faith, integrity and love, and anything beyond the cost of his funeral will be donated to the Citadel in his honor.  I ask as a member of the Citadel Class of 1993, whose son (Citadel ’19) loved Ra’Shaud as a mentor, brother and best friend to give what you can but please give from the heart in his loving memory.
Jim Boyd, one of his many Citadel fathers.
