Meet the Vasquez family. They are a young couple in their 20’s who are just starting out in life that are very near and dear to me. Enrique and Kelsey, Olivia, 4 and Eli, 10 months. Little Eli has just recently been diagnosed with MPS1, a rare genetic disease that breaks down your bones, organs and brain. He has the most severe form of MPS1, which is known as Hurlers syndrome. The life expectancy untreated is less than 10 years. They will be spending up to 6 months at University of Minnesota medical center, where he will receive enzyme effusion and a bone marrow transplant that will allow for, if successful, a longer and better quality of life! The road ahead is long, and the costs are going to be astronomical! If you find it in your heart to help, please do! And thank you! If you can’t help, please pray and share this. God hears our prayers and can work miracles in our efforts to help Little Eli!+ Read More
Seven days of chemo down, 2 to go for the little guy as they ready his body for the transplant. Friday is the big day as big sister Olivia will undergo surgery to extract her bone marrow to be given to her little brother! Please pray for a safe procedure for these two little angels and that Eli’s body accepts his sisters bone marrow to replace his own!
The journey has begun toward transplant with pre surgery preparation! Please find it in your heart to give and ease some of the burden! All they should have to worry about is getting better!
On October 16, this little family is headed to Minnesota where they will be anywhere from 4-6 months for little Eli’s bone marrow transplant. Big sister Olivia, 4, is a perfect match and will be his donor. The transplant surgery cost will be close to 1 million dollars. The family is going to need help with warm clothes, food, travel costs and medical bills.....all while being away from their home and jobs. PLEASE keep them in your prayers and give what you can! I ask that you continue to share this until we reach our goal! So much is needed!
