Support Patrick Landis
My nephew Patrick Landis was involved in a plane crash on Friday Aug. 24 2018. His brother Scott was the pilot. They were flying up to scatter their dad's ashes., who had passed away on Aug. 14 2018. Just 10 days prior. The engine failed on take off and they crashed. Scotty passed away from his injuries and Patrick sustained too many broken bones to count, a broken back and severed spinal cord. He is paralyzed from the waist down. Currently on a ventilator to help him heal, he is going to have years of recovery. My sister, his mom, lost her husband of 40 years, her 1st born son 10 days later and is now going to need to take care of her paralyzed son. Please consider donating. They need all the help they can get.+ Read More
Patrick continues to be in a lot of pain. He describes it as "unbearable". The pain meds do help, but I guess the problem arises when they wear off. He hit his face during impact, and broke 5 teeth. A dentist came into Spaulding and extracted all 5 of them . So, on top of his injuries and dealing with that pain, he had to deal with that. The poor kid. He is trying to remain positive, but with the amount of pain he is in, and not felling anything below the waist, he struggles. Please continue to share Patrick's plight. Please continue to pray for him. His road is going to a long one and a rough one. Thank you
Patrick just got transferred to Spaulding Rehab in Charlestown with a beautiful view of the water and commercial planes taking off in the distance. He already has a rigorous physical therapy schedule and is on a floor that specializes in spinal cord injuries. He remains positive and has accepted the likelihood that he may never walk again. He can't wait for the day his back incision heals along with his shoulders and sternum. To freely move his arms about and lift his own body weight is his main focus. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
Patrick continues to be in a lot of pain, requiring much pain meds, which makes him very tired and groggy. He had surgery on Thursday to fix his broken shoulder. Post surgical pain, plus pain from all his other broken bones makes it almost unbearable. On top of the fact that he can't feel anything from the waist down. I think that is what is affecting him the most, is how strange it feels to have your entire upper body racked with pain, but there is nothing from the waist down. Like it's not there. Thanks you again for all your support. We can't thank you enough. If we could ask you to please continue to share Patrick's campaign, that would be wonderful. He is just under halfway to his goal. He has a long, hard road ahead of him. If we can help him reach the goal, that would be great, surpassing the goal would be AMAZING. Thank you, thank you.
Got to see Patrick yesterday. Here he is waving a THANK YOU to all of his supporters. Unfortunately, he remembers everything from the crash. He was knocked out but came to while he was trapped. He remembers the plane heading toward the ground. He said "It was a hard hit" Oohh. Ya think??? The story he tells is gut wrenching. Even with all the physical pain and recovery, he will have that trauma to remember. Please continue to share his story. Your love and support means the world to us. THANK YOU
